MODULE INVENTORY (5 COMPONENTS)

Privowny is a true pioneer in personal data security solutions, focused on helping users control their digital footprint.

The cooperation between Privowny and Unibrix started in 2010. While the client initially worked with another development provider, the majority of infrastructure development was soon shifted to Unibrix.

Over more than a decade, the Unibrix team became deeply embedded in the product, taking responsibility for core architecture, backend systems, parts of frontend development, and automated testing.

STEP 02 — CHALLENGES IDENTIFIED

Assembly Requirements

MODULE INVENTORY (5 COMPONENTS)
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
A
#checked
Engagement. The platform needed to manage sensitive personal data while remaining understandable and usable for non-technical users.
B
#checked
Structure. Unibrix had to acquire full product context and take ownership of existing databases, APIs, and authentication mechanisms.
C
#checked
Scalability. The system needed to support growing volumes of user data, multiple products, and continuous feature expansion over many years.

Solution Architecture

MODULE INVENTORY (4 COMPONENTS)
MODULE 3.1
● CORE SYSTEMN

Unibrix built upon Privowny’s existing MySQL database and Java-based APIs, expanding and improving the backend architecture to support new products and features. OpenID authentication was implemented using Keycloak, and automation scripts were introduced for testing and maintenance.

Diagram of backend architecture with four layers: Authentication Layer using Keycloak and OpenID; API & Service Layer with Java, REST APIs, and services; Database Layer with MySQL for data storage; Automation Scripts layer for testing and maintenance, highlighting key improvements in secure authentication, expanded APIs, and automated testing.
MODULE 3.2
● USER & ADMIN INTERFACES

The team enhanced and supported frontend applications, redesigned browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox, and created interfaces for admin and user account management.

Diagram of interface architecture showing browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox, user dashboard metrics, interface types including admin panel and user account, frontend technologies Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, and key features like responsive, intuitive, secure, and real-time.
MODULE 3.3
● SECURITY PRODUCTS

With Unibrix acting as the original product team, the cooperation enabled the delivery of multiple security-focused products, including:
● Password manager
● Alias email manager
● Tracker manager
● Personal data manager

Diagram of a security product ecosystem with four products: Password Manager with encrypted storage and browser autofill, Alias Email Manager for privacy-focused email forwarding, Tracker Manager for real-time anti-tracking, and Personal Data Manager for continuous data monitoring, plus ecosystem integrations and summary statistics.
